Albany Street DTC Area
Albany Street is the road of the test centre and is used on every route. All three tests start and finish here, and every route returns via a roundabout on George Street/Dunollie Road before completing along Albany Street. The immediate junctions are quiet but require clean observation - give way fully before pulling out, as pedestrians frequently cross close to the test centre entrance.

Shore Road & Combie Street Roundabouts
Shore Road and Combie Street roundabouts are used on all three routes and form the main junction network of central Oban. Routes approach these roundabouts from different directions depending on the test - some from Albany Street via Shore Road, others from Soroba Road. Required exits vary, so confirm yours before arriving rather than deciding at the island.

Soroba Road & Glencrutten Drive Residential Area
Soroba Road and Glencrutten Drive are used on multiple routes through the residential area south-east of the town. Roads here become progressively narrower and include end-of-road junctions with limited forward visibility. Reduce speed well before each junction, observe early, and be prepared to give way to oncoming vehicles on the narrower sections.

Dunollie Road, George Street & Deanery Brae Northern Coastal Loop
Dunollie Road, Deanery Brae, and the upper George Street area form a northern coastal loop used on two routes. The roads here rise steeply in places - apply smooth braking and acceleration when stopping and moving off on the gradients, and keep extra space from the vehicle ahead. The Dunollie Road/George Street roundabout is the final junction before returning along Albany Street to the DTC.
