About Our UK Driving Test Routes

More about the routes on our site, and how they can help you prepare.

Where Do They Come From?

All of our routes are previously published DVSA driving test routes. They were made available many years ago through official channels and Freedom of Information requests, and while they're no longer actively updated, they are still a helpful resource for learner drivers preparing for their driving test.

Note: The DVSA may now use different or updated routes, for more accurate directions, consider installing the driving test routes app.

How to Use Them

You can follow them with a supervising driver or driving instructor, either using printable directions or on your phone via our step-by-step Mobile Nav Mode.

  • Start by driving the route slowly and getting used to each area.
  • Take note of tricky spots like roundabouts, one-way streets or hill starts.
  • Use them as a familiarity tool, not something to memorise.
Note: Test routes are chosen by your examiner and may vary depending on traffic or roadworks. These are for practise only and won’t necessarily match your real test.
