Where Do the Routes Come From?
All routes are previously published DVSA driving test routes. They were made available through official channels and Freedom of Information requests over the years. While they are no longer actively updated by the DVSA, they remain a genuinely useful tool for learner drivers getting familiar with the roads around their test centre.
How to Use Them
You can follow the routes with a supervising driver or driving instructor, either using the step-by-step directions on screen or printed out.
- Start by driving the route slowly and getting familiar with each area.
- Take note of tricky spots — roundabouts, one-way streets, hill starts.
- Use them as a familiarisation tool, not something to memorise.
What You'll See on Each Centre Page
- Route type: Car, Motorcycle, LGV, Taxi, etc.
- Step-by-step directions: Written instructions in the same format as an official test route.
- Route stats: Step count, number of roundabouts, left and right turns, traffic lights.
- Pass rate & waiting time for the centre where available.
- Nearby centres with their own routes and stats.

Pass Rates & Waiting Times
Pass rate and waiting time data is sourced from publicly available DVSA statistical releases. Not all centres appear in DVSA publications — smaller and rural centres are often excluded from published datasets.
