10 routes with 263 steps, 192 turns, 67 roundabouts & 25 lights to practise!
All three routes include several turns through Banbury’s town centre, including streets like High Street, Marlborough Road, and Gatteridge Street. These areas are often busy with pedestrians, parked cars, and multiple junctions close together—so scan early, be decisive, and keep your observations wide.
From West Bar Street to Ruscote Avenue and Queensway, the test includes frequent roundabouts—sometimes two or three in a row. Practise smooth lane changes, clear signalling, and early mirror checks to handle these confidently, especially when they appear close together on A roads.
Neighbourhoods like Longfellow’s, Brantwood Rise, and Springfield Avenue are commonly used on the test and can include tight corners and limited visibility due to parked cars. Use clutch control where needed, take corners slowly, and keep an eye out for oncoming vehicles on narrower stretches.
Oxford Road is a recurring feature in all three routes, with turns both on and off it often requiring careful timing and lane positioning. Some turns—like into Bankside or Grange Road—may be easy to overshoot if you’re not prepared. Keep your eyes peeled for signs and gaps in traffic.
