12 routes with 274 steps, 245 turns, 112 roundabouts & 42 lights to practise!
Nearly every route takes you through Bishops Stortford’s town centre - including Market Square, Bridge Street, and The Causeway. You can expect a mix of mini roundabouts, pedestrian crossings, and traffic lights in rapid succession. Stay calm at all times, keep chekcing your mirrors, and take your time.
You’ll move from residential areas like those around Rhodes Avenue and Manston Drive to more open roads like Hallingbury Road and Church Road. Adjust your speed accordingly, and remember - residential areas may have parked cars and pedestrian activity.
All routes include sections on or near the A120, with multiple roundabouts and faster-flowing traffic. Use your mirrors early, maintain your lane position, and don’t rush your gap decisions. It's a great way to demonstrate early confidence to your examiner.
Turns onto roads like Silver Street or crossing from Parsonage Lane can involve poor visibility or angled junctions. They make for ideal spots to showcase your judgement of traffic flow and space. Take your time, and edge out safely, checking both sides thoroughly.
