12 routes with 224 steps, 192 turns, 19 roundabouts & 12 lights to practise!
All routes start with a turn onto Raydean Road and quickly lead to the busy Great North Road. Be prepared to judge gaps in traffic confidently and use your mirrors and signals clearly—it’s an early test of your road awareness under pressure.
You’ll encounter multiple roundabouts and crossroads, especially around Stapleton Road and Barnet Gate Lane. Roundabout entries, right turns, and four-way junctions require clear lane positioning and calm decision-making—don't rush, and always check to your right.
Streets like Queens Road, Granville Road, and Connaught Road are typical London residential areas with narrow spaces and parked cars. These sections will assess your control at junctions and awareness of oncoming traffic. Keep it slow and steady through tight bends and side roads.
One route includes a short section on the Barnet Bypass with entry and exit via slip roads. This gives you a chance to show confidence in merging, maintaining appropriate speed, and reacting to fast-moving traffic—key skills for independent driving after the test.
